The First Day of the Rest of Your life

Here I sit, ready to graduate from Seminary and wonder what it is that God wants me to do. Four years of reading and the first thing I want to do is find a good book. I am not studious or a book worm but just love to learn, gain the knowledge that is in all those books! Gnosis is Greek for knowledge; we can never have enough knowledge about our environment, about ourselves or about why we do what we do. Luckily there is fiction which makes it so much easier to gain that insight. This is the first day of the rest of my life, a new beginning. A life of continuous learning and being open to what God is calling me to do. Blessings, D

I like your page. Simple, yet elegant. I think I still have your bookstore logo in an electronic format somewhere if you are interested in using it here,

Have a great day!

Love,

Harv

This is a new experiment for me - am trying to prove that an old dog can learn new tricks (am even trying a digital camera!)

Dorothy, I really do admire your sense of adventure - you're a great role model!

Ok, here's some book stuff. I haven't read any of these but thought they looked interesting or fun. Star Trib reviews had two over 60 books - "No! I Don't Want to Join a Book Club" & "Leap". Also had a list of Michael Chabon's top ten books from a book by Peder Zane, "The Top Ten: Writers Pick Their Favorite Books". In article about Garrison Keillor's bookstore, mgr. said she's been pushing "Birds in Fall" by Brad Kessler - aftermath of a plane crash in Nova Scotia. One more & I'm done - Khaled Hosseini, author of "Kite Runner" has a new book out - "A Thousand Splendid Suns" - good review in Star Trib.
